  • Dubai Mercantile Exchange: Oman Included In First Commodity Fund

    For the first time the Dubai Mercantile Exchange’s flagship crude oil futures contract, DME Oman, is to be included in a new US-based commodities fund which will give investors exposure to Asia’s rapidly growing demand for raw materials. The inclusion of DME Oman in the United States Asian Commodities Basket Fund (“USACBF”) recognises the critical benchmarking role DME is playing in the expansion of the East of Suez markets, providing transparent price discovery and reflecting the economics of the Asian region like no other crude oil futures contract.

  • Review Of 2012: “Transparency In Energy Markets” Continuously Expanded And On Track For REMIT

    In the third year since its establishment, the EEX “Transparency in Energy Markets” platform (www.transparency.eex.com) was expanded further. It is particularly encouraging that further companies are now reporting data on the platform. After PCK Raffinerie GmbH (January 2012), the power plant operator Mark-E AG (February), Saarstahl AG (May), swb Erzeugung GmbH & Co. KG (June) and ČEZ Group (August), Wacker Chemie AG joined the platform as a new reporting company in September. This increase to 141 reporting power plants (16 more than at the end of 2011), means that a degree of coverage of 97.2 % was achieved for the statutory publications in the German market area. In the past year, the number of reporting power plant operators increased by 6 to 47 reporting companies in total.

  • ETF Securities Now Also Lists ETPs On SIX Swiss Exchange

    SIX Swiss is pleased to welcome ETF Securities as a new issuer of ETPs. Four months ago,ETF Securities launched the first products on SIX Swiss Exchange and entered the Swiss market with eight Equity ETFs. Now ETF Securities launches 28 ETPs on the Swiss stock exchange on various commodities such as aluminum, zinc, coffee, cotton or sugar – all with a CHF currency hedging.

    The Board of ASX Limited (ASX) today announces the appointment of Dr Kenneth (Ken) Henry AC as a non-executive director of the company effective 1 February 2013.  This appointment is part of ASX’s continuing Board renewal process, as foreshadowed at ASX’s 2012 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and outlined by the Chairman in the 2012 Annual Report.
