Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Inks MOU With New York Institute Of Technology

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) signed today an agreement facilitating mutual cooperation in the fields of research, institutional development, and training. The agreement was signed at a formal ceremony held at the ADX main offices in Abu Dhabi.

RBS Approved To Issue Letters Of Credit For DME Trading Direct From Singapore

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has today been approved to issue letters of credit for trading on DME directly from Singapore. The approval reflects DME and RBS’s joint commitment to facilitate the trading activities of their mutual customers in Asia.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published today Question and Answers (Q&As) on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). The purpose of this document is to promote common supervisory approaches and practices in the application of the AIFMD and its implementing measures. It does this by providing responses to questions posed by the general public and competent authorities in relation to the practical application of the AIFMD.

Lahore Stock Exchange Decided To Auction Two Trading Right Entitlement Certificates (TRECs) Of Expelled Brokers

LSE has notified that the Trading Right Entitlement Certificates (TRECs) of two (2) expelled brokers of Lahore Stock Exchange shall be auctioned on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. in the LSE Auditorium at 19-Khayaban-e-Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore. The reserve price for the TREC has been fixed as Rs. 4,100,000/- each.

UK Serious Fraud Office: Further Charges In LIBOR Investigation

Criminal proceedings by the Serious Fraud Office have commenced today against three former employees at Barclays Bank Plc, Peter Charles Johnson, Jonathan James Mathew and Stylianos Contogoulas, in connection with the manipulation of LIBOR. It is alleged they conspired to defraud between 1 June 2005 and 31 August 2007.

UK’s Financial Conduct Authority Wins Case Against Capital Alternatives

The High Court has ruled that two investment schemes, promoted by Capital Alternatives and a number of other firms, were collective investment schemes. They were promoted and operated without Financial Conduct Authority authorisation.

LME Widens Direct Access To Market Data

The London Metal Exchange (LME) today announces a new policy to allow clients of LME members to connect directly to the Exchange’s electronic trading platform, LMEselect, for market data. The change will be effective from 24 March 2014.
