Thai Bourse Hires Main Contractor For Its New Headquarters

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has signed an agreement hiring Nantawan Co,. Ltd. as the main contractor in constructing its new headquarters on Ratchadapisek Road, Dindaeng District, Bangkok, turning the compound into a complete capital market business center for investors and promoting "Matching Your Right Financial Opportunities". Construction is to be completed in 2015.

Renowned Economist Professor Benjamin M Friedman Appointed As MAS Term Professor At NUS

The National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) have jointly appointed Professor Benjamin M Friedman, William Joseph Maier Professor of Political Economy at Harvard University, as MAS Term Professor in Economics and Finance from 17 to 21 June 2013. Professor Friedman will be hosted by the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences’ Department of Economics, the NUS Business School, and the Economic Policy Group at the MAS during the term of the Professorship.

SEC: Former Mutual Fund Directors Agree To Settle Claims That They Failed To Properly Oversee Asset Valuation

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced a settlement in an enforcement proceeding against eight former directors of five Regions Morgan Keegan open- and closed-end funds that were heavily invested in securities backed by subprime mortgages. The proceeding, which began in December 2012, alleged that the directors failed to satisfy their pricing responsibilities under the federal securities laws.

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today published amendments to National Instrument 81-101 Mutual Fund Prospectus Disclosure (NI 81-101) and related consequential amendments, which will require delivery of the Fund Facts document for mutual funds instead of the simplified prospectus to satisfy the prospectus delivery requirements.
