NYSE Member Firms Report Second-Quarter 2013 Results

New York Stock Exchange member firms that conduct business with the public reported a second-quarter 2013 after-tax profit of $2.2 billion and revenues of approximately $39.5 billion, compared with a $4.2 billion after-tax profit on revenues of about $43.0 billion in the first-quarter of 2013. 

Thai Bourse Adds CIMB Thai To “Banker-To-Broker” Campaign

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has signed an agreement with CIMB Thai Bank pcl, a member of CIMB Group, and its brokerage arm CIMB Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd, to include them in the Banker-to-Broker 2013 project, thus expanding the prudent investor base via CIMB’s 165 branches nationwide and improving the effectiveness of CIMB’s wealth management bankers. 

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For China Merchants Bank Futures

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 19 August 2013, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below.  The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

UK's Financial Conduct Authority: Adviser Numbers In Line With Expectations

Figures released today by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have revealed that in July 2013 there were 32,690 retail investment advisers working in the UK. This is within the range predicted by independent researchers commissioned by the FCA’s predecessor, the Financial Services Authority, in 2012

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued a reprimand to China Securities Holdings Limited (China Securities); fined it $1.3 million and banned its responsible officer, Ms Stephanie Liu Suk Wai, for a period of 27 months effective from 15 August 2013 to 14 November 2015.
