S&P Dow Jones Indices Market Attributes: Correlation & Dispersion Index Dashboard

• Warning signals were flashing in European correlation levels prior to the European Central Bank's much-anticipated stimulus package at the end of last month; since the announcement, correlations have collapsed along with volatility levels in developed markets.
• February’s 0.11 correlation for the S&P Europe 350 was the lowest since at least 2007, and similar record-low correlations were recorded in the S&P SmallCap 600®, the S&P Emerging BMI and the S&P Developed Ex-U.S. LargeMidCap.  Every single correlation measure was in the lowest quartile of its historic range.
• Dispersion in each market remains high relative to recent history.

The NEO Exchange plans to launch its trading platform on March 27, 2015, trading TSX and TSXV listings. Its listing platform will launch in Q2 2015, when capital-raising companies will be able to obtain approval and go public on the NEO Exchange.

IEX Hires Former Chief Regulatory Officer Of New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

IEX today announced that Claudia Crowley is joining the company as its Chief Regulatory Officer, effective April 1. In this role, Ms. Crowley will oversee IEX’s compliance with its regulatory obligations, as the first buy-side owned trading venue prepares to launch as a national securities exchange. Ms. Crowley was previously the Chief Executive Officer of NYSE Regulation, and Chief Regulatory Officer of the three NYSE Euronext U.S. securities exchanges – the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE ARCA and NYSE MKT. More recently, she has provided advisory services to exchanges and financial services firms on complex regulatory matters and market structure issues.

February Statistics Report From The Nasdaq Nordic Exchanges

The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 3.3 billion, compared to EUR 2.7 billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per trading day was 448,081 compared to 361,608 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at Nasdaq Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 1 164 billion, compared to EUR 993 billion in February 2014.
