Moscow Exchange: Derivatives Market Trading Schedule Changed For Options Expiration Days

Beginning 14 April 2015, the evening trading session for derivatives will begin five minutes earlier on expiration days of weekly, monthly and quarterly options. The change was proposed by the Exchange Derivatives Market Committee following the introduction of a new option automatic exercise procedure.

HKEx Update: Southbound Trading Turnover Record High

Southbound trading turnover under Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect continues to hit record high: HK$15 billion this morning, accounting for 5.6% of Hong Kong stock market total. Combined turnover for Northbound & Southbound turnover under Stock Connect reached RMB20 billion in Wednesday morning after Easter holiday. Usage of Southbound daily quota exceeded RMB7.8 billion, the first time overtaking Northbound quota use. Hong Kong stock market turnover exceeded HK$133 billion in Wednesday morning, one of the most active morning sessions in history.

MNI India Consumer Sentiment Lowest Since Sep 2013 - Budget Tax Measures Dampen Confidence

The MNI India Consumer Sentiment Indicator fell to 118.5 in March from 121.2 in February, the lowest level since September 2013 when the economy was mired in a currency crisis. The fall in consumer sentiment wiped out the gains made over the previous two months, raising doubts about the pace of recovery of the economy.

SIFMA Develops Model Sophisticated Municipal Market Professional Affirmation For Institutional Customers

SIFMA today announced that is has developed a model Sophisticated Municipal Market Professional, or SMMP, Affirmation. This new affirmation is necessary in light of Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) rule changes which were approved by the SEC in December 2014 and which become effective December 7, 2015. Until that time, an affirmation from an institutional customer indicating exercise of independent judgment that satisfies FINRA 2111 can be used to satisfy MSRB rules, but current affirmations are no longer a valid means of satisfying MSRB rules as of December 7, 2015.

Within the efforts performed to attract more companies to list on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and to encourage state-owned companies to benefit from the capital market as a platform to finance their expansions, EGX is coordinating with 3 new companies belonging to the petroleum sector to list on the Egyptian Exchange during the coming period, with a total capital of more than LE 8.5 billion. The companies are The Middle East for Oil Refining Company (MIDOR) with a capital of US $ 1.1 billion, Gaz Cool Company with a capital of LE 125.5 million and Nile for Oil Marketing Company with a capital of LE 50 million, which comes in light of some ministries’ trend, specially the Ministry of Petroleum, to get benefit of the stock exchange as one of the important funding means.
