Thank you for that wonderful introduction. I’m honored to speak today to a group that is grounded in an issue that is very near to my heart: operational risk. When I was a corporate lawyer here in New York, I was immersed in operational risk issues every time I worked on an M&A deal. For every deal, the parties and their counsels had to consider many different scenarios. From the possibility that the parties’ data systems might not easily interface, that the two companies had incompatible systems to administer retirement and benefit plans, or that operations outside of the U.S. had different regulatory oversight and restrictions – everything had to be thoroughly vetted prior to finalizing the deal.

Sourcing sufficient liquidity to get large trades done is the top concern of institutional traders globally, according to a survey conducted by Liquidnet, the global institutional trading network. Even as confidence in equity inflows returns, 84% of the survey’s respondents were either “concerned” or “very concerned” about being able to source liquidity in the current market. Liquidnet’s annual Institutional Voice survey canvassed the views of more than 115 buy-side equity traders around the globe.

To lay a solid foundation for the launch of agri-product options, the collaborative test on mock trading has started

After the introduction of stock ETF options, the preparatory work for the launch of agri-product options is accelerating. Today (March 23), to test the design of the options market maker rules and the readiness of the related exchange systems, software supplier sytems and market maker systems, to promote and examine the preparation of related business and identify good market makers to build a sound basis for the option’s listing and operation, Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) launched the collaborative test on mock trading of soymeal option by market makers (the collaborative test for short). The launch signified the exchange’s preparation work for the agri-product option has entered the stage of identifying and cultivating market makers.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. recently announced to issue SZSE Small and Medium Enterprise Innovative Index (Code: 399015, Abbreviation: SZSE SME Inno) on March 24 2015, in a move to reflect the overall performance of stocks of different sizes in the Shenzhen market and provide the market with more analysis tools and performance benchmark. The index takes December 30 2011 as the base date and 1000 points as the base value.
