Patience May Be A Virtu - Virtu Financial To Resume IPO, With USD2.5B Valuation

Virtu Financial on Monday outlined plans to go public later this month. In a filing with the SEC, Virtu said that it plans to raise up to USD314 million at a valuation of about USD2.6 billion. Virtu postponed its first attempt to go public last year amid a furore over high-frequency trading, following the release of Michael Lewis' book "Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt".

Investor Activity On WSE Markets – March 2015

- The total trading value for equity transactions on the GPW Main Market in March 2015 totalled PLN 21.5 billion, which is equivalent to a 7.7% decline versus March 2014.
- The total trading value on NewConnect in March 2015 totalled PLN 216.9 million, i.e. more than doubled year-on-year.
- The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst reached PLN 65.7 billion at the end of March 2015, which was up by 8.2% year-on-year.
- The total turnover volume on the energy market in March 2015 amounted to 16.8 TWh, which is a 4.8% decline year-on-year.
- The turnover volume for property rights to certificates of origin rose by 109.0% y-o-y in March 2015, reaching 9.1 TWh.
- The total trading volume in natural gas on the spot and futures markets in March 2015 hit the mark of 11.7 TWh, up versus 0.4TWh one year earlier.

In New Research, EDHEC-Risk Institute Proposes A Different Reporting Approach To Better Assess The Real Risks And Performance Of A Portfolio

In a new publication entitled “Accounting for Geographic Exposure in Performance and Risk Reporting for Equity Portfolios”, EDHEC-Risk Institute underlines the usefulness of analysing the performance and risks of portfolios, by taking into account their geographic equity exposure based on real economic activity and not only on their place of listing or, more generally, the nationality assigned to them in market indices. This research was conducted with the support of CACEIS as part of EDHEC-Risk Institute’s research chair on “New Frontiers in Risk Assessment and Performance Reporting”.
