  • Financial Stability Oversight Council To Meet May 19

    On Tuesday, May 19, Secretary Lew will preside over a meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) at the Treasury Department.  The agenda will include both an executive and an open session.  The preliminary agenda for the open session includes a discussion of the Council’s 2015 annual report and a discussion of charters for the Council’s committees.

  • Profits Of Listed Companies On The Palestine Exchange Reached 61.60 USDm In The First Quarter Of 2015

    First quarter financial results showed that thirty two of forty eight listed companies' total profits after tax exceeded 69 million while the loss of the fourteen companies amounted to 7.70 million USD for the same period. The listed companies' net profits after tax reached 61.60 million USD (profits-Losses), a drop of 15.42% compared with same period of 2014.

    I echo Chair White and my fellow Commissioners in thanking everyone assembled for this inaugural meeting of the Equity Market Structure Advisory Committee (“Committee”). And a special thank you to each of the Committee members for agreeing to serve and the panelists for participating today.

  • EBA Consults On The Valuation Of Derivatives In Resolution

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a public consultation on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) defining the valuation of derivative liabilities for the purpose of bail-in in resolution. These standards have been developed within the framework of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) which sets procedures for the recovery and resolution of credit institutions across the EU. The draft RTS provide EU resolution authorities with a methodology for the valuation of derivative liabilities of credit institutions placed under resolution and ensure that the discipline brought in by the new bail-in tool can effectively be extended to these liabilities too. The consultation will run until 13 August 2015.
