IMF Publishes Worldwide Government Revenue Database

The IMF today published for the first time the World Revenue Longitudinal Dataset (WoRLD), which provides data on tax and non-tax revenues for 186 countries over the period 1990-2013. The database includes broad country coverage and time periods, and it is the result of combining in a consistent manner data from two other IMF publications -- the IMF Government Finance Statistics and World Economic Outlook (WEO)-- and drawing on the OECD’s Revenue Statistics and Revenue Statistics in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Trading value in the equity market (BOVESPA segment) totaled BRL 126.28 billion in July compared with BRL 133.21 billion the previous month. Average daily trading value was BRL 5.74 billion, vis-à-vis BRL 6.34 billion in June. Total volume reached 18,295,393 from 17,000,751 the previous month. Average daily volume was 831,609 (809,560 in June).

The DFSA Signs MoU With Australia’s Prudential Supervisor

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) entered into an agreement with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) last week. The Memorandum of Understanding commits the DFSA and APRA to information sharing and co-operation in the supervision of financial institutions.

Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (635998-W) (Bursa Malaysia Securities) has publicly reprimanded Damansara Realty Berhad (DBHD) in respect of the company’s fourthquarterly report for the financial year ended 31 December 2014 (QR 4/2014) announced on 27 February 2015 which was in contravention of paragraph 9.16(1)(a) of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Main Market Listing Requirements (Main LR). DBHD had subsequently amended and re-stated its QR 4/2014 as announced on 15 April 2015.

CFTC Orders Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC To Pay A $300,000 Civil Monetary Penalty For Violations Of Customer Protection Rule For Cleared Swaps And Related Supervision Failures - Order Finds That The Firm Failed To Maintain Sufficient U.S. Dollars In Segregated Accounts In The United States, Holding Required Funds Instead In Other Currencies

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today issued an Order requiring Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC (Morgan Stanley), a registered Futures Commission Merchant and provisionally registered swap dealer, to pay a $300,000 civil monetary penalty for failing to hold sufficient U.S. Dollars in segregated accounts in the United States to meet all of its U.S. Dollar obligations to cleared swaps customers. The Order also finds that the firm failed to implement adequate procedures and requires Morgan Stanley to cease and desist from violating CFTC Regulations, as charged.

FINRA Bars Former Caldwell Broker For Churning Customer Accounts

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that it has permanently barred Richard Adams, a former registered representative of Caldwell International Securities Corp., from the securities industry for churning customers’ accounts and other securities rule violations. Adams also failed to report a dozen unsatisfied judgments and liens on his U4 Registration Form as required by FINRA rules.
