The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announces that 55 companies and six CEOs have been nominated to compete for a total of 35 SET Awards in an annual ceremony, under the concept "Matching Your Right Financial Opportunities,” held this year on November 22 at the SET Building.
The quality of the nominees and the high visibility of the SET Awards underline the remarkable profiles of Thai listed companies and their CEOs, helping increase competitiveness of the Thai capital market in the region.
SET, together with Money & Banking Magazine, are organizing the SET Awards for the ninth time to recognize and honor firms in the Thai capital market that are outstanding in several aspects, such as profitability and social service, including listed companies, securities firms, asset management companies, and their top executives, and hold them up as role models for others in the capital market.
SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said the awards are in seven categories, consisting of Best Asset Management Company, Best CEO, Best Company Performance, Best Corporate Governance Report, Best Corporate Social Responsibility, Best Investor Relations, Best Securities Company and Best Derivatives House Awards. All nominees are the result of intensive screening by a panel of distinguished judges.
“This is the second year that we have disclosed nominee names before announcing the winners in order to increase the visibility of these firms and their top executives to the general public. We will also announce the winner of the Best Corporate Governance Report Awards in the event. The good performance of these companies helped the Thai stock market to be in the spotlight over the last 3-5 years compared with other exchanges in the Advanced Emerging Market group and in the region. These benefits, and more, stem from the full cooperation of all listed companies," Charamporn said.
