Euronext Announces Departure Of Luis Laginha

Euronext today announced that Luis Laginha, Chairman and CEO of Euronext Lisbon and Interbolsa and member of the Managing Board1 of Euronext NV, has resigned and will step down from his role as CEO. This departure was agreed mutually based on Luis Laginha’s desire to pursue other professional interests. He will continue to fulfil his responsibilities until the shareholders’ meetings of both entities have taken place on 22 February 2016.

Aequitas NEO Exchange Receives Application For First Listing - PowerShares Canada To List Its Next Exchange-Traded Fund On NEO

Aequitas NEO Exchange Inc. (“NEO”) is pleased to announce it has received its first listing application. PowerShares Canada1 has filed a preliminary prospectus with Canadian securities regulators for PowerShares DWA Global Momentum Index ETF, and applied to have the ETF listed on NEO. This listing will be the first in a series of new listings expected on NEO in the coming months, demonstrating the importance of competition to drive innovation and efficiency in the Canadian capital markets.

EBA Launches An Impact Assessment Of IFRS 9 On Banks In The EU

In the context of the forthcoming implementation of the IFRS 9 Financial instruments standard (IFRS 9) in the EU, the European Banking Authority (EBA) is launching an impact assessment of the standard on a sample of approximately 50 institutions across the EU.

EGX Finishes The Periodical Review Of EGX Indices

Egyptian Exchange indices witnessed a number of changes during the periodic rebalance. 4 companies were excluded from EGX30, however 3 companies were included to it. 9 companies were removed from EGX50 and 8 companies were added to its constituents. 16 companies were excluded from EGX70 index. 2 companies of them were included to EGX30 constituents. Additionally 14 companies were removed from EGX100 and 13 companies were added to its constituents.

Romana Jordan And Jochen Penker Elected New Chair And Vice-Chair Of ACER Administrative Board

ACER’s Administrative Board, meeting today, unanimously appointed its new leadership for the next two years. The new Chair, Dr Romana Jordan, has a long experience in collaborating with ACER and has an extensive knowledge of the Agency, which she acquired during her term as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and of its ITRE Committee. The new Vice-Chair, Mr Jochen Penker, is the Director of European and International Energy Policy at the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in Austria and has a long experience in public service in the energy field, both in Austria and at the EU level.

trueEX, the fastest growing swap execution facility (SEF), has created another industry innovation with the execution of the first dealer to client Mexican peso (MXN) interest rate swaps trades on its award-winning platform. Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Bank (SGCIB), and undisclosed institutional investors completed the transactions late in December and January; the first buy-side trades to be electronically executed.
