ASIC has clarified financial advisers’ record-keeping obligations by way of an amendment to Class Order [CO 14/923] Record-keeping obligations for Australian financial services licensees when giving personal advice.

Today’s adopting release is a well-crafted and thoughtful adoption of the Commission’s proposal to modernize and improve our rules related to intrastate offerings and Rule 504 offerings. I echo the thanks of my fellow commissioners for the efforts by our staff, including a number whose experiences as former state securities regulators were quite helpful.

Several months ago, Chairman Scott Garrett of the House Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises raised questions about how the Commission has been prioritizing its resources. As he noted, the universal proxy initiative has been pushed for years by special interest groups and it would increase the likelihood of proxy fights at public companies, thereby distracting management and employees from carrying out their core mission.

CBOE Holdings Declares Fourth-Quarter 2016 Dividend

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBOE) announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share of common stock for the fourth quarter of 2016. The fourth-quarter dividend is payable on December 16, 2016, to common stockholders of record as of December 2, 2016.

Office Of The Comptroller Of The Currency Issues Responsible Innovation Framework

CME Group Announces First Trades Of Alumina FOB Australia (Platts) Futures

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced that the first Alumina FOB Australia (Platts) Futures contracts were traded on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016. A total of 60 futures contracts, equivalent to 6,000 metric tons, were traded across the January through June 2017 contract months.

SEC Proposes Amendments To Require Use Of Universal Proxy Cards - Proposal Facilitates Shareholders’ Ability To Vote For Their Preferred Combination Of Board Candidates In Contested Elections

The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted to propose amendments to the proxy rules to require parties in a contested election to use universal proxy cards that would include the names of all board of director nominees. The proposal gives shareholders the ability to vote by proxy for their preferred combination of board candidates, similar to voting in person.
