    As part of National Financial Capability Month, the Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA) is encouraging investors to go to Investor.gov to learn about the importance of saving and investing early, and to check out their investment professional before investing.Investor.gov also provides investors with free financial planning tools such as a compound interest calculator, information on investment products, risks and fees, as well as alerts on recent investment scams and bulletins on various securities topics.

  • American Financial Exchange (AFX) Announces Record Month

    American Financial Exchange (AFX), an electronic exchange for direct interbank lending and borrowing for American financial institutions, announced a record month of trading, with $11.75 billion traded across all products. The month of March had already seen a record day (with $735 million traded) and a record week (with $3.5 billion traded). AFX facilitates the determination of Ameribor®, a transaction-based interest rate benchmark for financial institutions via its electronic trading platform. Since opening, more than $128 billion cumulative has been successfully transacted.

    Nasdaq, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced the conclusion of its Nasdaq International Designation Virtual Investor Conference on March 21, 2018. In collaboration with BNY Mellon Depositary Receipts, Nasdaq welcomed select BNY Mellon Level I ADR Issuers from Australia and New Zealand to present their current state of business to a broad audience, including potential investors. The Conference also provided individual and institutional investors an opportunity to engage with CEOs, CFOs, and IROs from a wide range of sectors globally.

    March saw a high level of activity on SIX Swiss Exchange. Trading turnover was up by 1.8% on the prior month to CHF 125.9 billion, equating to an average turnover of CHF 6.0 billion per trading day. There was also an increase in the number of transactions, which climbed by 1.1% to 5,549,702. No less than three companies brought listings to the market in a space of just four working days, which marked the highest frequency of listings on the Swiss stock exchange since 2006. The listing of ASMALLWORLD took place on the 20th of the month, followed by Sensirion on 22 and Medartis on 23 March.
