EFSF Raises €5 Billion In Two Bond Deals

The European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) on Tuesday raised €5 billion in a dual-tranche deal, through the issue of a new 7-year benchmark bond and a tap of a 1.20% February 2045 bond.

ESMA Proposes Updates To Endorsement Guidelines For 3rd Country Credit Ratings

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published a consultation paper (CP) on updating its Guidelines on the application of the endorsement regime under the CRA (Credit Rating Agencies) Regulation. Endorsement is a regime under the CRA Regulation, which allows credit ratings issued by a third-country CRA, and endorsed by an EU CRA, to be used for regulatory purposes in the EU. A credit rating that has been endorsed is considered to have been issued by the endorsing EU CRA. The endorsement regime is available for CRAs of systemic importance with global networks of affiliates.

PEGAS: The CEGH Hub Is The Reference Market In Central Eastern Europe

The pan-European gas trading platform PEGAS, operated by Powernext, has published a new position paper in response to the study initiated by E-Control on the performance of the Austrian gas market and the impact potential market area integrations. According to Powernext, the CEGH hub is already the reference market in Central Eastern Europe (CEE). An integration with neighbouring markets like Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia could further bundle liquidity in CEE and reduce dependency on oil-indexed contracts.
