Bursa Malaysia Has No Plan To Facilitate Listing Of Dual Class Shares

There have been some misleading reports of late which have caused confusion on Bursa Malaysia’s position on the listing of dual class shares. Bursa Malaysia’s position has been misunderstood and taken out of context. We wish to inform that presently, we have no plan to facilitate the listing of dual class shares. In Bursa Malaysia’s pursuit to remain attractive and competitive, we are committed to uphold market integrity and ensure sound investor protection in all our market development initiatives.

On August 10, 2017, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (hereinafter as “SZSE”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. (hereinafter as “SPDB”) in Shenzhen to push forward a deep integration between finance and technology. Present at the signing ceremony were Wang Jianjun, general manager of SZSE, Zhang Ying, vice chairman of SZSE, Gao Guofu, chairman of the board of SPDB and Cui Bingwen, vice president of SPDB.

Dalian Commodity Exchange: First Dominant Soybean Meal Options Series Reached Expiration

August 7 was the expiry date for the soybean meal M1709 option series on Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE). On the day, 32 contracts in the series were smoothly delisted. A market participant said that the expiry of the contracts in the M1709 option series, the first options contract series on a dominant futures contract, served as a comprehensive and effective test for DCE’s designing of the rules, the technical system implementation and all the market participants.

Reuters, the world’s largest international multimedia news provider, announced today the launch of two new scholarships in partnership with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), for graduate journalism programs at Columbia University and New York University. Each scholarship, funded by Reuters and the universities and valued at more than $40,000 in tuition and credits, will be open to all NABJ members applying to Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and NYU’s Business and Economic Reporting graduate program. The scholarship program will begin with applications for the 2018-2019 school year.
CFTC Staff Grants Relief To Market Participants From Certain Position Aggregation Requirements

SIFMA submitted a comment letter and study to the Department of Labor (DOL) in response to the Department's July 6, 2017 "Request for Information Regarding the Fiduciary Rule and Prohibited Transaction Exemptions." SIFMA provides the DOL with new data on the rule's potentially negative impact on retirement savers, reiterates the need to delay the January 1, 2018 applicability date and stresses the need for a workable standard to protect investors.
