  • Intercontinental Exchange Agrees To Acquire TMC Bonds

    Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE), a leading operator of global exchanges and clearing houses and provider of data and listings services, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire TMC Bonds LLC for $685 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2018, subject to customary regulatory and anti-trust approvals, and is not expected to materially impact 2018 financial results or capital returns.

    Solactive has decided to take its benchmark offering to the next level by introducing its proprietary Global Benchmark Series (GBS). The Solactive Global Benchmark Series is one of the largest projects undertaken by the German index provider. Once completed, the GBS will include around 2,000 equity indices, covering developed and emerging markets based on the Solactive Country Classification Framework.

    Commenting on how the next Italian election could turn into a referendum on membership of the euro, Chris Payne, Managing Director at GWM Investment Management, said: “We are seeing a European-wide sell-off and financials, in particular, have been under pressure on concerns that the next Italian election could turn into a referendum on membership of the euro. Even a weaker Euro and Pound have failed to provide some price stability, as is often the case, and the consensus appears to be that Cottarelli will struggle to gather support to pass a budget, resulting in snap-elections when both anti-establishment parties could return with a larger representation in parliament.

  • Update On SGX India Derivatives

    On 21 May 2018, India Index Services and Products Limited (IISL), a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), filed for and was granted an interim injunction against the launch of SGX’s new India derivatives products announced on 11 April 2018. SGX was not able to contest this injunction as it was not given notice by IISL of its application for the injunction.
