The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) announced today that it has established a New Economy division. Denise Weeres has been appointed Director of the New Economy division, and will coordinate efforts across the ASC to facilitate capital raising by new economy companies entering the capital market, as well as anticipate and act on issues and opportunities relating to emerging financial technologies.

Federal Court Orders Jody Dupont Of Anderson, South Carolina, And His Company, Open Range Trading LLC, To Pay $192,000 For Defrauding Customers In Connection With Offering And Selling Futures Trading System

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced that Judge Timothy M. Cain of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina entered a Consent Order against Defendant Jody Dupont of Anderson, South Carolina, and an Order of Default Judgment against his company, Open Range Trading LLC (Open Range), also of Anderson.  Neither DuPont nor Open Range has ever been registered with the CFTC.

EGX: Multiplying The Maximum Quantity Of Stocks To Be Traded Via Intra-Day Trading & Allowing More Trades On The Same Stock As Per FRA Decision

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX), in coordination with Misr Clearing, Depository and Registry (MCDR), has started to apply Resolution No. 96 of year 2018 that was issued by the Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) regarding the intraday trading mechanism, which limits the maximum allowed securities to 1/1000 instead of 1/20000. It allows the customer to repeat the transaction on the same security more than once in the same session with the same value to the quantity to be sold. This aims at increasing the liquidity and volumes of trading on the stock exchange.

EBA Publishes Opinion To Hasten The Preparations Of Financial Institutions For Brexit

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today an Opinion relating to the risks posed by lack of preparation by financial institutions for the departure of the UK from the EU. In this Opinion, the EBA asks Competent Authorities to ensure that financial institutions take practical steps now to prepare for the possibility of a withdrawal of the UK from the EU with no ratified Withdrawal Agreement in place, and no transition period.

In connection with a monthly share savings plan for employees of subsidiaries, Oslo Børs VPS Holding has sold a total of 3151 shares. New holding is 13642 shares. Employees paid a share price of NOK 117 per share, but were allowed a discount of 20% on purchases up to NOK 1250.
