  • Tokyo Commodity Exchange’s Application For Regulatory Approval For New Electricity Futures Market Notified In Official Gazette Today

    The Tokyo Commodity Exchange announced today the publication of its application for the trial listing of electricity futures in the official gazette. The application was originally submitted on March 27th to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

  • China-Japan Capital Markets Forum Held In Shanghai

    The China-Japan Capital Markets Forum, co-organized by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), the Securities Association of China (SAC), the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC), Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX), the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA) and the Investment Trusts Association, Japan (JITA), is held in Shanghai on April 22, 2019. Yi Huiman, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), opened the Forum with a live speech via video link. Toshihide Endo, Commissioner of the Financial Services Agency (Japan), Fang Xinghai, Vice Chairman of the CSRC, Wu Qing, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Mitsuhiro Hasegawa, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC), Huang Hongyuan, Chairman of the SSE, and Akira Kiyota, Group CEO of JPX attended the forum and delivered speeches.

  • Wells Fargo & Bank Of America Meetings: Disclosing Median Gender Pay Gap Receives Increased Support From Shareholders - 1 In 4 Wells Fargo And Bank Of America Shareholders Want Big Banks To Disclose Company Wide Figures On Median Pay Gap Between Women And Men, And Minorities

    Wells Fargo and Bank of America tried, unsuccessfully, to appeal to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to exclude the “median pay gap” proxy resolution from going to a vote of shareholders. But the effort failed. Representatives of wealth-manager Arjuna Capital presented their resolution this morning at Bank of America’s annual meeting in Charlotte, and yesterday at Wells Fargo’s annual meeting in Dallas.  The resolutions call on investors to vote in favor of the bank producing a detailed report disclosing the “median” or company-wide pay gap that exists between women and men across race and ethnicity. 26 percent of Bank of America and 23 percent of Wells Fargo shareholders agreed and voted “yes” on ballot items #5 and #6, respectively, up from 15% in 2017 when pay equity was first put on the ballot of the firms.
