Good afternoon. It is a pleasure to speak at the Council on Foreign Relations. I will begin with a progress report on the broad public review my Federal Reserve colleagues and I are conducting of the strategy, tools, and communication practices we use to achieve the objectives Congress has assigned to us by law—maximum employment and price stability, or the dual mandate. Then I will discuss the outlook for the U.S. economy and monetary policy. I look forward to the discussion that will follow.

UK Financial Conduct Authority: Update From Case At Southwark Crown Court

Today Fabiana Abdel-Malek and Walid Anis Choucair have each been convicted of three offences of insider dealing following an eleven week trial brought by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) at Southwark Crown Court.  The jury is still considering its verdicts in respect of two further charges alleged against each defendant. 

Borsa İstanbul Announces Constituent Changes To The BIST-KYD Fund Indices For The Third Quarter Of 2019

Referring to article 3.3. of the BIST-KYD Indices Ground Rules, constituent changes to the BIST-KYD Fixed Income Fund Index and BIST-KYD Equity Fund Index for the third quarter of 2019 are determined. All changes will be effective on July 1, 2019.

CFTC Approves LedgerX LLC As A Designated Contract Market

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it has approved the application of LedgerX LLC (LedgerX) for designation as a contract market. LedgerX is a Delaware limited liability company located in New York City, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ledger Holdings, Inc.

CFTC To Clarify Cross-Border Regulatory Commitments

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it has unanimously approved a proposed rule to amend Part 30 of CFTC regulations that governs the offer and sale of foreign futures and options to customers located in the U.S.  The proposed amendments would codify the CFTC’s authority to terminate exemptive relief issued to foreign firms.
