    An article in The Royal Gazette announced the return of Appleby as BSX listing sponsor.  The release stated:

    Appleby is bullish about its return to the Bermuda Stock Exchange as a listing sponsor after a gap of 3½ years.

  • BOX Options: Solicitation Auction Notification

    Under BOX Rule 7270(b)(3), prior to entering agency orders into the Solicitation Auction (the “Auction”) on behalf of customers, Order Flow Providers are required to deliver to their customers a one-time written notification that informs the customers that their orders may be executed using the Auction. The written notification must disclose the terms and conditions contained in Rule 7270(b) and be in a form approved by BOX.

  • Update On The Change Of Financial Market Data Provider For The Calculation Of Solvency II Risk-Free Interest Rate Term Structures

    The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) is publishing the list of Reuters Instrument Codes (RICs) of financial market data for the calculation of the technical information relating to the risk-free interest rates (RFR) term structures, namely of the following rates:

    • Interest rate swap rates
    • Zero coupon government bond interest rates
    • Inter-bank offered rates
    • Overnight indexed swap rates
    • Additional data necessary for the calculation of the volatility adjustment

  • Nigerian Stock Exchange Weekly Market Report For July 26th 2019

    A total turnover of  1.069 billion shares worth N11.393 billion in 16,346 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange in contrast to a total of 1.086 billion shares valued at N13.390 billion that exchanged hands last week in 15,774 deals.

  • IMF Executive Board Initiates Selection Process For The Next Managing Director

    “The Executive Board announces today that it has adopted an open, merit-based, and transparent process for the selection of the next Managing Director, similar to the one used in recent rounds. It underscored the importance it places on the successful candidate having the requisite global standing to lead the Fund, which stands at the center of the global financial system.


  • EBA Publishes Clarifications To The Fourth Set Of Issues Raised By Its Working Group On APIs Under PSD2

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today clarifications to a fourth set of issues that had been raised by participants of its Working Group (WG) on APIs under PSD2. The clarifications respond to issues raised on the confirmation of payment execution, biometrics and authentication on mobile apps, access to non-payment account information, stress testing, qualified eIDAS certificates for Account Servicing Payment Service Providers (ASPSPs), the 4 times per day access by Account Initiation Service Providers (AISPs), and the Sharing of payment account number with Payment Initiation Service Providers (PISPs).

  • Ninth Circuit Rules in Favor of CFTC In Fraud Case Against Monex Deposit Company And Its Principals

    On Thursday, July 25, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reinstated its anti-fraud enforcement action against Monex Deposit Company and its affiliated companies and principals (defendants). The Ninth Circuit held that the district court erred in dismissing the case, and ruled that the CFTC’s charges of fraud and illegal off-exchange commodity trading could proceed. The CFTC complaint charges the defendants with defrauding thousands of retail customers nationwide out of hundreds of millions of dollars, while executing thousands of illegal, off-exchange leveraged commodity transactions. See Release No. 7609-17.

    I am interested in today’s discussion.  I understand the Committee first will be talking about the SEC approach to regulation in areas where competition may be limited.  Competition is important to the functioning of our capital markets and, over the years, some of the Commission’s most effective actions have fostered competition.
