IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva Appoints Alfred Kammer As Director Of The European Department

Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced today her intention to appoint Mr. Alfred Kammer as Director of the European Department. Mr. Kammer succeeds Mr. Poul Thomsen, whose retirement was announced previously [ link ]. He is expected to begin his work in this capacity on August 1, 2020.

National College Fed Challenge To Be Held In A Virtual Format In 2020

The Federal Reserve Board, along with co-sponsoring Federal Reserve Banks and other regional partners announced on Wednesday that the National College Fed Challenge will be held in a virtual format in 2020. The new format will include a video submission, a virtual judged question and answer session, and a virtual event announcing the winners in November. The new format will allow schools outside current Fed Challenge districts to compete in a newly created at-large region.

Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced today her intention to name Mr. Ceda Ogada as the Secretary of the Fund and Director of the Secretary’s Department. Mr. Ogada succeeds Mr. Jianhai Lin, whose retirement was announced previously [ link ]. Mr. Ogada is expected to begin his work in this capacity on September 1, 2020.

ACER To Decide On Methodologies Related To Long-Term Cross-Zonal Electricity Capacity In Two Regions

The National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) for energy in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden (the Baltic capacity calculation region) asked the Agency to decide on a common methodology for calculating long-term cross-zonal capacity. Similarly, the NRAs of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania (the South East Europe Region) asked the Agency to decide on a common methodology to split long-term cross-zonal electricity capacity.

FSB Sets Out Action To Maintain Financial Stability During COVID

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) today published a letter from the FSB Chair, Randal K. Quarles, to G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, ahead of their virtual meeting on 18 July 2020. The FSB also delivered to the G20 a report on the financial stability implications of, and policy measures taken in response to, the COVID-19 pandemic.
