Finansinspektionen: Liquidity Tools In UCITS And Special Funds

Finansinspektionen concludes in a new report that fund managers need access to additional tools to manage liquidity risks in Swedish UCITS and special funds. We consider there to be a certain type of swing pricing that could be used already today. The report outlines a suggestion for how to regulate this and other liquidity management tools in legislation and regulations. FI takes the position that Swedish UCITS only need to be open for redemptions once a week. We suggest that the funds instead only need to be open for redemptions twice a month.

Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer Declines Sharply; Producers Remain Bullish On Farmland Values

Purdue University /CME Group Ag Economy Barometer saw a significant decline in May, down 20 points to a reading of 158. This marks the lowest reading for the survey since September of 2020. Producers were less optimistic about both current conditions and the future of the agricultural economy. The Index of Current Conditions dropped 17 points to a reading of 178 and the Index of Future Expectations fell 20 points to a reading of 149. The Ag Economy Barometer is calculated each month from 400 U.S. agricultural producers' responses to a telephone survey. This month's survey was conducted fromMay 10-14, 2021 . -
EBA Announces Changes To Its Internal Organisation And Appoints Two New Directors

In line with its 3-year strategic priorities focusing on the Single Rulebook, risk tools, data, digital finance, anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing (AML/CFT), and environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, the European Banking Authority (EBA) announced today a series of changes to its internal organisation. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s securities markets regulator, has today published its Final Report on Guidelines on the MiFIDII/MiFIR obligations on market data. The Final Report sets out guidelines on the requirements to publish market data on a reasonable commercial basis and to make market data available free of charge 15 minutes after publication.
