The ceremony was held with participation of employees of DFM and Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre as well as brokers and investors.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission Commences Legal Proceedings Against New Ray Medicine International Holding Limited And Its Former Top Executives

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has commenced legal proceedings in the Court of First Instance to seek disqualification orders against former chairman and executive director of New Ray Medicine International Holding Limited (New Ray), Mr Zhou Ling, and the company’s former chief executive officer and executive director, Mr Dai Haidong, for allegedly committing corporate misconduct and breaching their duties towards New Ray.

Monetary Authority Of Singapore Orders Removal Of Eagle Hospitality REIT Manager

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced today that it has directed DBS Trustee Limited (Trustee), in its capacity as the trustee of Eagle Hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust (EH-REIT), to remove Eagle Hospitality REIT Management Pte Ltd (EH-REIT Mgt) as the Manager of EH-REIT, and to appoint a new manager as soon as practicable. This direction follows MAS’ Notice of Intention (NOI) issued on 26 October 2020 to direct the Trustee to remove EH-REIT Mgt and appoint a new manager.

Japan Exchange Group: Report From The System Failure Investigation Committee

In response to the system failure that occurred on October 1, 2020, on October 5 JPX established a "System Failure Investigation Committee" comprised of independent outside directors of JPX to investigate, among other things, the cause(s) of the system failure and to maximize the effectiveness of measures put in place based on the investigation results, including those to prevent similar incidents. JPX announces that it has today received the Committee's report (only available in Japanese).

Europex: Minimum Carbon Pricing Is Distortive And Not Needed – Why Free Price Formation Should Remain A Cornerstone Of The EU ETS’ Volume-Based Cap-And-Trade Mechanism

The EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) is a cornerstone of the EU’s policy to combat climate change and the key carbon pricing instrument for reducing greenhouse gas emissions cost efficiently. While the main variant in terms of carbon pricing is a cap and trade system such as the EU ETS, other variants exist. The concept of a carbon price floor, for example, is regularly advertised as a way to improve investment certainty by reducing carbon price risk, decreasing the cost of capital and facilitating access to finance. Additionally, the price floor argument has been touted as a way of protecting against drops in fossil fuel prices and accelerating decarbonisation efforts by providing predictable long-term price signals. As such, a number of EU Member States have expressed their interest in considering the introduction of a carbon price floor, either by combining it with the EU ETS or in the form of a carbon tax.
