    SIFMA today issued the following statement from President and CEO Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. on the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2021:

    “The American retirement system has helped millions of Americans prepare for a secure future. SIFMA believes the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2021 takes important steps toward enhancing the private retirement system and increasing retirement savings, including provisions that will incentivize small businesses to offer retirement plans, enable older Americans to save more and hold on to their savings longer, and help young people to save while paying off student loan debt. We commend Chairman Richard Neal and Ranking Member Kevin Brady for their long-standing commitment to improving retirement security for all Americans and for their work on this important legislation.”


  • Nodal Exchange Achieves Records In Power And Environmental Futures In April

    Nodal Exchange announced today that it achieved several records in monthly power and environmental futures in the United States in April 2021. Nodal Exchange achieved record power futures open interest with 1,076 million MWh per side (equivalent to the electricity consumption of 101 million homes for a year in the USA) at the end of April representing 51.5% market share which is also a new record.  Nodal also achieved record open interest in environmental futures open interest with 135,946 lots representing 12.4% market share as of end of April.

    In April 2021, total trading volumes across Moscow Exchange’s markets grew by 12% to RUB 95.7 trln (RUB 85.5 in April 2020).
    Growth leaders were the Derivatives Market (+32.6%), FX Market (+15.8%), Equity Market (+13.4%), Money Market (+5.3%), Precious Metals Market (up 19.9x) and the Standardized OTC Derivatives Market (up 11.7x).

  • Coin Metrics Closes $15M Series B Round Led By Goldman Sachs

    Coin Metrics, the leading provider of crypto financial intelligence, today announced that it raised $15 million in Series B financing, led by Goldman Sachs. Castle Island Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Fidelity Investments, Avon Ventures, Communitas Capital, and Collab+Currency are also increasing their investment in the company after participating in previous fundraising rounds. They are joined by new investors Acrew Ventures, Morningside Group, BlockFi and Warburg Serres Investments. Mathew McDermott, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, and head of their blockchain and crypto expansion efforts, will join Coin Metrics' Board of Directors.
