    Following news of the death of Lord Myners, Nikhil Rathi, Chief Executive of the FCA, issued the following statement on the organisation’s behalf:

    'I am saddened to hear about the death of Lord Myners. I had the privilege to work closely with Paul during the financial crisis and saw at first hand his ability to quickly grasp the enormity of the situation and navigate the whole system towards decisive solutions. He always expressed his views frankly and in my most recent discussions with him he continued to be motivated by the need to ensure the integrity of the financial system. I always appreciated his support and I offer my sincere condolences to his family.'

    On 17 January 2022, BaFin prohibited Panteras Capital PLC, which states that its registered office is in Great Britain, from offering the shares of Panteras Capital PLC to the public. BaFin imposed the prohibition because the company had infringed Article 3(1) of the EU Prospectus Regulation. For this reason, Panteras Capital PLC may not offer the securities the shares of Panteras Capital PLC to the public in Germany.

    Allens and Khaitan were the top mergers and acquisitions (M&A) legal advisers in Asia-Pacific for 2021 by value and volume, respectively. Allens advised on 38 deals worth $88.9bn, the highest among all the advisers. Meanwhile, Khaitan led in volume terms with 116 deals worth $21.7bn. A total of 7,807 M&A deals were announced in the region during 2021, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
