HEDGE Fund Liquidations Fall To Historic Low - HFRI Dispersion Narrows On Uncertainty Over Virus, Spending, Inflation - Launches Exceed Closures As Industry Capital Surpasses Historic $4T Milestone - Average Management, Incentive Fees Remain Unchanged For Quarter

New hedge fund liquidations fell to a record low in 3Q as total industry capital surpassed the historic $4 trillion milestone to begin 4Q21, according to the latest HFR Market Microstructure Report, released today by HFR®, the established global leader in the indexation, analysis and research of the global hedge fund industry. Hedge fund liquidations fell to only 102, the lowest total since 2Q 2006, as investors maintained or increased positions in existing hedge funds, driven by the uncertain macroeconomic environment including rising inflation, increased government spending, tapering of Federal Reserve bond purchases and the impact of Omicron coronavirus variant.

New Zealand Financial Markets Authority: Medical Kiwi Admits To Making False And Misleading Statements

Medicinal cannabis company Medical Kiwi Limited has admitted to breaching the fair dealing provisions of the Financial Markets Conduct Act (FMCA). In August 2020, Medical Kiwi launched an offer for shares on equity crowdfunding platform PledgeMe Ltd. The accompanying information memorandum and campaign page contained false and misleading statements in relation to Medical Kiwi’s medicinal cannabis licenses and its contractual arrangements.
