SIFMA Statement On Equity Market Structure Reform

SIFMA today issued the following statement from president and CEO Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr. on comments from SEC chair Gary Gensler on equity market structure reform:

“SIFMA has long called for a review of equity market structure, having previously presented recommendations designed to enhance the current structure to the SEC and Congress in 2013, 2014 and 2017. ”

EBA Consults On Technical Standards On The Identification Of A Group Of Connected Clients

The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a public consultation on draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) on the identification of a group of connected clients (GCC). The draft RTS, in conjunction with the EBA Guidelines on connected clients, provide the complete framework for the identification of the GCC. The consultation runs until 8 September 2022.

The American Financial Exchange (AFX), an electronic exchange for direct lending and borrowing for American banks and financial institutions, announced that the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) now carries daily price information and charts of the AFX AMERIBOR® Term-30 and Term-90 Indexes.   FRED is the St. Louis Fed’s online database consisting of thousands of economic data time series from scores of national, international, public, and private sources.

IMF Managing Director Appoints Krishna Srinivasan As Director Of The Asia And Pacific Department

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced today her intention to appoint Krishna Srinivasan as Director of the Asia and Pacific Department (APD). Mr. Srinivasan’s appointment as APD Director becomes effective on June 22, 2022. He will succeed Changyong Rhee, whose retirement from the Fund was announced on March 23, 2022.
