Malawi Stock Exchange Third Quarter Market Report: July – September 2023

The market transacted a total of 156,942,781 shares at a total consideration of MK23,786,392,020.69 (US$21,820,238.45) in 3,334 trades. In the corresponding period 2022, the market transacted a total of 560,112,227 shares at a total consideration of MK14,704,227,803.86 (US$14,325,535.15) in 1,147 trades. This reflects a –71.98% decrease in terms of share volume traded and a 61.77% (52.32% in US Dollar terms) increase in share value traded. Of the shares traded 1 million PCL and 3.98 million TNM shares traded as negotiated deals at a total consideration of MK2.44 billion.
