  • Stock Exchange of Thailand Summary Of Securities Trading In 2000 And In December 2000

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand today released the official figures of securities trading for the year 2000 and in December 2000, which recorded the total market turnover of 60,502.56 million shares in volume and 923,696.83 million baht in value. The SET Index closed on December 29 at 269.19, down by 212.73 points or 44.14 % from the previous month. Derivative Warrants for SCB Preferred Shares (SCB-C1) was the most active stock with total trading volume of 3,536,019,600 shares, representing Bht.

  • Nasdaq Trades More Than Three Billion Shares For The First Time

    The Nasdaq Stock Market® announced today that it experienced its heaviest trading session ever, with preliminary figures showing than 3.120 billion shares were traded. It was the first time more than 3 billion shares were traded on Nasdaq. Nasdaq’s previous record was set on April 4, 2000, when 2.88 billion shares changed hands.

    Chicago Board of Trade total year 2000 volume of 233,528,558 contracts marked the seventh consecutive year CBOT® trading volume topped 200 million contracts. December trade was 15,533,833. Yearly records were set by 11 Treasury and Agency complex futures and options. Volume on the a/c/e system hit 8,630,085 from its late August launch to year’s end.
