  • BSE Announces Fiscal Year-End Results - Continues To Post Record Breaking Numbers

    The Boston Stock Exchange has announced a record breaking fiscal year-end. Total annual share volume for the BSE’s fiscal year 2000, ended September 30th, was 5.3 billion, an increase of 31% from fiscal 1999. Total trade volume for the year was 12.6 million, up 39% from the prior year. On an average daily basis, the BSE’s share volume rose from 16.3 to 21.4 million shares per day, an increase of 31%.     Australian Stock Exchange Limited ("ASX") yesterday announced an operating profit after tax and abnormals for the three months to 30 September 2000 of $13.4 million, a 23% increase on the $10. 9 million recorded for the previous corresponding quarter.

    In the last 24 hours, some customers including the OM Group, have experienced service interruption on the WorldCom Nordic network. WorldCom technical teams have identified the issue as transport interruption on leased facilities and normal service has now been restored. WorldCom regrets any inconvenience this issue has created for its Nordic customers and their end users.

  • Program Trading Averaged 21.2 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Oct. 9-13

    The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Oct. 9-13. The data indicated that during Oct. 9-13, program trading amounted to 21.2 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,152.8 million shares, or 244.6 million shares a day.
