  • AIM Celebrates Its Fifth Birthday As Total Money Raised Hits £4.9 Billion

    Close to £5 billion has been raised by AIM companies in the five years since the London Stock Exchange launched its market for small, young and growing businesses, on 19 June 1995. Launched with ten companies, AIM has seen rapid growth and now has 422 members. In total, more than 570 companies have been admitted to AIM since its launch and 72 of those have transferred to the main market including 23 that are now in techMARK.

    Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has announced the appointment of Frederick Grede as chief operating officer in succession to Alec Tsui. He will remain chief executive of Hong Kong Futures Exchange.

  • Iceland Stock Exchange New Partner In The NOREX Alliance

    Iceland Stock Exchange today signed the formal agreement to join the NOREX Alliance. The signing ceremony took place in Keflavik, Iceland with the Board of Directors of NOREX in attendance. Under the agreement Iceland Stock Exchange will move its trading in shares and debt instruments to SAXESS, the joint trading system of the NOREX Alliance, with a planned launch date in autumn 2000.
