Bursa Malaysia And Petronas Sign Memorandum Of Collaboration - Reinforces The Centralised Sustainability Intelligence Platform Built In Collaboration With LSEG

Bursa Malaysia (“Exchange”) signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (“MOC”) with PETRONAS to help drive environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) adoption and practices through Bursa Malaysia’s Centralised Sustainability Intelligence Platform (“Platform”). Working in collaboration with the London Stock Exchange Group (“LSEG”), Bursa Malaysia is developing and testing the Platform which can allow corporates and their listed or non-listed suppliers, both domestically and internationally, to calculate their carbon emissions impact and disclose standardised, common ESG data.

ASX To Consult On The Future Of The ASX Managed Fund Settlement Service (mFund)

ASX Limited and ASX Settlement Pty Limited (together ASX) are aiming to release a consultation paper in June 2023 to seek feedback regarding a proposed wind down and closure of the ASX Managed Fund Settlement Service (mFund). ASX expects the consultation period to remain open for six weeks.

Taiwan Futures Exchange Newsletter - April 2023

Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) reported a total volume of 30,996,997 contracts with an average daily volume (ADV) of 1,347,696 contracts traded in March 2023, an increase of 8.42% in monthly ADV as compared to February. ADV of TAIEX Options (TXO), Mini-TAIEX Futures (MTX) and TAIEX Futures (TX) grew 9.37% to 727,472 contracts, 10.96% to 285,451 contracts, and 11.74% to 150,941 contracts over the previous month, respectively, while that of Single Stock Futures (STF) showed a slight decrease of 1.94% to 162,967 contracts. For the night trading session, the overall ADV traded overnight also rose 11.12% over February and accounted for 34.62% of the market’s total volume.

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, COP28 President-Designate, and Mark Carney, UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance and Co-Chair of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ), today co-chaired a roundtable discussion hosted at the IMF to discuss actions needed to urgently accelerate climate action and finance. Participants at the roundtable included representatives from governments, international financial institutions, development banks, philanthropic organizations, and private financial institutions committed to net zero.

CFTC Charges New York Resident With Fraud And Misappropriation In Digital Assets Trading Scheme

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today filed a civil enforcement action in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against New York resident Rashawn Russell. The CFTC’s complaint charges Russell with fraudulently soliciting retail investors to invest in a digital asset trading fund and with misappropriating at least $1 million in investor assets.
