    Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) revealed that the value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors at the ASE in July 2023 was JD14.4 million, representing 11.3% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD17.9 million.

  • The EBA Publishes Its First Report On The Implementation Of The European Resolution Examination Programme

    With a view to fostering convergence in resolution practices, the European Banking Authority (EBA) today published for the first time a Report which monitors the progress made by resolution authorities in embedding the key topics identified in the EBA’s 2022 European Resolution Examination Programme (EREP) into their respective priorities and resolution colleges in 2022. The Report observes that, overall, resolution authorities incorporated the work priorities set by the EBA, with MREL monitoring being a key focus. The EREP priorities set for 2024 mainly confirmed the areas of focus set for 2023 although with updated specific elements and extension of the operationalisation of the bail-in tool to cover the operationalisation of the resolution strategy more generally.

  • Deutsche Börse Acquires Outstanding Shares Of Leading Digitised Fund Distribution Platform FundsDLT

    Global market infrastructure provider Deutsche Börse Group will acquire the remaining shares in FundsDLT. The Luxembourg-based company is a leading decentralised platform based on distributed ledger technology (DLT) for end-to-end fund distribution and processing. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter 2023 or the first quarter 2024, subject to regulatory approval. 

  • The Saudi Arabia Capital Market Authority: Capital Market Institutions Hit A Record In 2022

    The CMA Deputy of Market Institutions, Bander Sulaiman Alayed, reported that the capital market institutions authorized by the Capital Market Authority (“CMA") achieved a net income of SAR 6.1 billion with a 29.8% increase by the end of 2022 (Highest in history), compared to SAR 4.7 billion in 2021. Such a leap was achieved at the time when the CMA was continuing its comprehensive development plan in full cooperation with the capital market system.
