  • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, August 5, 2005: Rock Creek Resources Ltd. (TSXVN:RCR.A) will be removed from the index. The company is being delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange subsequent to the completion of a plan of arrangement with Great Plains Exploration Inc. (TSX:GPX). Goose River Resources Ltd. (TSXVN:GRR) will be removed from the index.

    Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes effective after the close of business on Monday, August 8, 2005: The relative weight of Enerplus Resources Fund (TSX:ERF.UN) will increase by approximately 0.55% in the S&P/TSX Capped Income Trust Index and by 1.02% in the S&P/TSX Capped Energy Trust Index.   • SEC Files Emergency Action To Freeze Proceeds Of Alleged Insider Trading In Reebok Securities

    In an emergency federal court action filed today, the Securities and Exchange Commission obtained a Temporary Restraining Order against Sonja Anticevic, a Croatian national and resident. The Commission alleges that a securities account in Anticevic's name engaged in a series of highly suspicious, and highly profitable, trades in "out of the money" call options of Reebok International Ltd. just prior to Reebok's Aug. 3, 2005, announcement that it had agreed to be acquired by adidas-Salomon AG.
