KCBT® May Volume & Open Interest - Kansas City Board Of Trade Wheat Futures Volume Sets New May Record

Hard red winter wheat futures trading volume at the Kansas City Board of Trade® was the largest in exchange history for the month of May. A total of 229,963 contracts traded in May, topping the previous May record of 217,809 contracts set in 2003 by 5.6 percent.

Deutsche Börse: Equities Turnover In May 13 Percent Up Year-On-Year - €267 Billion In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In May - More Transactions On Xetra

In May, the German stock exchanges generated an equities turnover based on the order book statistics, which show all transactions in the order book of Xetra and broker-supported trading on the floor in single counting, of €86.7 billion - an increase of some 13 percent year-on-year (May 2005: €76.7 billion). German equities accounted for €82.1 billion of this total, with foreign equities comprising €4.6 billion.

CME Reports Average Daily Volume Of 4.0 Million Contracts In May, Up 18 Percent From Year-Ago Period - CME® Globex® Volume Increased 57 Percent vs. May 2004, Representing A Record 73 Percent Of Total Exchange Volume Compared With 55 Percent In Prior-Year

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today reported that average daily volume for May was 4.0 million contracts, up 18 percent from the same period a year ago. Average daily volume on the CME Globex electronic trading platform was 2.9 million contracts, a 57 percent increase from May 2004. Electronic trading represented a record 73 percent of total CME volume in May, compared with 55 percent in the prior-year period and up from 70 percent in April.

CBOT May Average Daily Volume Rises 11.7 Percent From Last Year - Year-To-Date Average Daily Volume Up 21.9 Percent

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that Exchange-wide average daily volume for May increased to 3,078,825 contracts, up 11.7 percent over last year and 21.9 percent year-to-date (YTD). Total Exchange volume in May increased to 64,655,316 contracts, up 17.2 percent from last year and 5.4 percent from last month.

The CBOT® 30-Day Fed Fund futures contract for May 2005 will be cash settled this morning at a final settlement price of 96.997, implying an average daily effective federal funds rate of 3.003 percent during the delivery month.
