afexeu.com: BaFin Investigates AfexEU, Dublin

BaFin warns consumers about the website afexeu.com. The company AfexEU, which is domiciled in Dublin, is conducting banking business and providing financial services via this website without the required authorisation. The company offers its customers the opportunity to trade in financial instruments. On the website, it claims that AfexEU holds a licence from BaFin. This is not true. However, a company with a similar name, AFEX Markets Europe Limited, which is also domiciled in Dublin, does hold authorisation from BaFin. This is therefore a case of identity fraud.

- Digital asset investment products saw outflows totalling US$32m, representing the 5th consecutive week of outflows totalling US$232m.
- The outflows in Bitcoin of US$33m represented most of the negative sentiment, as it has done over the last 5 weeks.
- Altcoins, with the exception of Ethereum (US$1m outflow), saw inflows, most notable of which were Avalanche and Litecoin.

LCH SwapClear Successfully Completes USD LIBOR To SOFR Conversion

- In aggregate, LCH SwapClear has successfully converted approximately 600,000 (approx. 50,000 tranche 1 / approx. 550,000 tranche 2) USD LIBOR contracts into SOFR, the new risk free reference rate (RFR) in US Dollars
- The conversion involved $45 trillion of aggregate notional, with the second tranche by far the largest conversion undertaken to date with a value of $43 trillion

European Energy Exchange (EEX) is launching the world’s first marketbased hydrogen index, HYDRIX, and presenting it at the E-world trade fair in Essen. HYDRIX provides information on actually traded prices for green hydrogen, which is determined from supply and demand prices of hydrogen together with renowned partners from industrial and energy sectors to ensure the necessary price transparency crucial for the growing market.
