US Treasury Announces New Climate Counselor

Today, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen announced the appointment of Ethan Zindler to serve as the Treasury Department’s new Climate Counselor. Mr. Zindler will lead the Treasury Climate Hub, report directly to and advise the Secretary on a broad range of climate matters, and be charged with leading Treasury’s efforts to facilitate and unlock the financing needed for investments to achieve a net-zero economy at home and abroad.

IOSCO: Monitoring Group Reports On Progress To Implement Recommendations To Strengthen The International Audit, Assurance, Ethics, And Independence Standard-Setting System

The Monitoring Group (MG) is responsible for the overall governance of the international audit, assurance, ethics and independence standard-setting system, including conducting periodic effectiveness reviews. In July 2020, the MG issued its recommendations Strengthening the International Audit and Ethics Standard-Setting System (MG Recommendations). The objectives of the MG Recommendations are the implementation of an independent and inclusive multi-stakeholder standard-setting system that is responsive to the public interest in the development of timely, high-quality audit, assurance, ethics, and independence standards that respond to an accelerated pace of change. The MG, supported by strong stakeholder engagement, has made significant progress in implementing its Recommendations to strengthen the standard-setting system.

BME: MARF Registers A New Commercial Paper Programme Of A&G Banco

The BME's fixed income market, MARF, has admitted to trading a new Commercial Paper Programme of A&G Banco, for an outstanding balance of €200 million. With this new securities issuance instrument, A&G Banco will be able to flexibly access the fixed income markets over the next year to issue promissory notes with a maximum maturity of up to 24 months.
