The end-of-November short interest represents 3.11 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.20 days for the prior reporting period.

Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Shortens Trading By 1 Hour

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange’s (TASE) Board of Directors decided on Thursday, 4 December 2008 to shorten trading hours by one hour. The pre-opening phase will begin at 9:00 instead of 8:30 and trading will close at 16:30. Clearing house operations will last 2 hours after trade closing, until 18:30.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it obtained more than $12 million in restitution and civil monetary penalties against nine Florida defendants to settle a CFTC anti-fraud lawsuit in connection with the offer and sale of illegal off-exchange foreign currency (forex) options (CFTC v. The Liberty Mutual Group, et al., No. 07-21267 (S.D. Fla.)).
