The EBA also published its final supervisory handbook for the validation of internal ratings based (IRB) rating systems to clarify the role of the validation function as part of corporate governance.

    The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has reason to believe that Life Forestry Switzerland AG, whose registered office is in Stans, Switzerland, is offering capital investments called “Premium Wood – Land Lease” to the public. Specifically, these offers concern opportunities to invest in a teak wood plantation. The company has not published a prospectus for this product. This constitutes a violation of section 6 of the German Capital Investment Act (Vermögensanlagengesetz – VermAnlG).

  • The EBA Is Collecting Bank Data On Interest Rate Risk In The Banking Book

    • The EBA will collect on an ad-hoc basis interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) data from the institutions already participating in the quantitative impact study (QIS) exercise and based on the templates from the final draft Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on IRRBB reporting.
    • This collection, with reference date end December 2023, will provide competent authorities with data to monitor, in a timely manner, the implementation of this IRRBB policy package in the current environment of high inflation combined with growing interest rates.
