NASDAQ Announces Mid-month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date May 15, 2009

At the end of the settlement date of May 15, 2009, short interest in 2,505 NASDAQ Global Market(sm) securities totaled 6,267,327,098 shares compared with 6,360,098,430 shares in 2,518 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of April 30, 2009. The mid-May short interest represents 2.47 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 2.72 days for the prior reporting period.
