SII Response To FSA Consultation Paper Published Today On The RetailDistribution Review (RDR)

The SII supports this important paper from the FSA and endorses the main recommendations to improve professionalism across the sector. This consultation paper clearly states the intention to raise standards of mandatory examinations across the retail sector, to introduce and measure mandatory Continuing Professional Development and to introduce an industry wide Code of Ethics, which has significant areas of commonality with the SII's own Code.

Vienna Stock Exchange And European Commodity Clearing AG Conclude Clearing Agreement

European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) will provide clearing and settlement for the natural gas exchange in Austria which is scheduled to be launched in autumn 2009. Trading will be executed through the exchange systems of the Vienna Stock Exchange. The Central European Gas Hub (CEGH) will be the delivery point.

The daily price limits will change from June 26, 2009. Soybeans will be expanded to 2,700yen. Raw sugar will be reverted to 1,000yen.

(TOCOM or “the Exchange”) held its first annual meeting of shareholders and board of directors meeting today, where Tadashi Ezaki, Special Advisor, has been elected as the new President & CEO effective on the same day.
