    The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced a significant increase in trading volume to start off 2010. Total OCC contract volume for January was up 22% from January 2009, averaging 16,502,046 contracts per day.

  • Kansas City Board of Trade January Volume & Open Interest Post Large Gains

    The Kansas City Board of Trade trading volume for 2010 posted large gains over both January 2009 volume and last month’s trading volume. An active month in Hard Red Winter wheat futures trading was responsible for the trading volume increase. Open interest in the Hard Red Winter Wheat contract continued to grow and was showing large increases in year-over-year comparison.

  • CBOE January 2010 Trading Up 16% Over A Year Ago

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today reported that daily volume in January averaged nearly 4.9 million contracts, a 16-percent increase over January 2009 average daily volume (ADV) of 4.2 million contracts. During the month, 92.2 million contracts changed hands at CBOE versus 83.5 million contracts traded a year earlier.
