Samuel Gaer To Head FINRA's Technology And TRACE Divisions

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that Samuel Gaer, currently President of Tragara Alpha Partners and formerly Chief Information Officer (CIO) of NYMEX Holdings, will join the organization as CIO and Executive Vice President for Business Services. Gaer will oversee technology at FINRA, and also supervise FINRA's Transparency Services division.

Deutsche Bank Lists First Fixed-Income Db X-Trackers In ETF Segment Of SIX Swiss Exchange

Deutsche Bank’s db x-trackers has launched its first ETFs on fixed-income indices on the SIX Swiss Exchange, increasing its range of ETF products with daily trading to 76. Today in the press there was an article stating that the dissolution of the Tokyo Grain Exchange was decided and its agricultural markets would be transferred to the Tokyo Commodity Exchange. President Yoshiaki Watanabe stated “There is no fact to the contents of this article.”

Effective October 25, 2010 FORTS Launches Cash-Settled Futures Contract On Raw Sugar

Starting from October 25, 2010 FORTS, the futures and options market of RTS, will start trading on a new instrument, a cash-settled futures contract on raw sugar quoting in rubles per a long ton with settlements in March, May, July and October. The code of the contract in the trading system is (SUGR). The underlying asset of the contract is raw sugar, which is the main input material for sugar production.
