  • Warsaw Stock Exchange Short Selling, Securities List

    The WSE Management Board makes public a list of securities (stocks and bonds) that effective from 1 July this year will be allowed to be traded using short sale orders. The list of securities will be also available under the tab „Short selling and securities lending” on WSE Web site (www.gpw.pl-> Investor Centre -> Short selling and securities lending -> Securities available for short selling).

  • European Parliament: More Daylight And Stricter Rules For The Derivatives Market

    Proposed EU rules on derivatives trading must be made clearer and tougher, so as to reduce speculative trading and ensure that as many derivatives as possible are traded through open channels that are subject to rules, the European Parliament said in a resolution adopted on Tuesday. The resolution also suggests ways to regulate the trade in credit default swaps and reduce the regulatory burden on corporate end-users of derivatives.

  • Thai Bourse’s Trading Activity In May

    In May 2010, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index was rather volatile and closed at 750.43, a 1.71% drop from the previous month due to concerns over Europe’s public debt crisis and domestic political unrest. However, the drop in the SET Index was small compared to regional markets, and was still 2.16% higher than the SET Index at end-2009. Market capitalization was at THB 6.09 trillion (USD 0.19 trillion), down in line with the SET Index's decline.
