NYSE Euronext Market Holidays

On December 24 and December 31 (2010), European cash markets will close at 1:00 p.m. GMT (2:00 p.m. CET) while NYSE Liffe will commence the closing of its derivatives contracts from midday GMT (1:00 pm CET). On these days, it is NYSE Liffe's intention to align its trading hours with those of the relevant underlying cash markets.

Thai Bourse Allows Short-Selling On SET100 Index Stocks From Jan 1

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will allow securities in the SET100 Index to be sold short, effective from January 1, 2011, onwards. This should provide investors with a better tool to manage their risks from stock price movement. Previously, short-selling could be done only with the securities in the SET50 Index.
DNO Not Successful In Its Legal Proceedings Against Oslo Børs

Tuesday 21 December the Oslo District Court issued its ruling on the annulations action brought by DNO International against Oslo Børs in the connection with the decision of the Stock Exchange Appeals Committee in respect of DNO’s duty to disclose information to Oslo Børs. DNO’s claim that the Committee’s decision was invalid did not succeed and the company cannot claim compensation for its legal expenditures. Oslo Børs has also been awarded its legal costs.
