March Is Second Busiest Month On Record At CFE - Trading Volume Increases More Than 300% Over Year Ago - Second Consecutive Quarterly Trading Record Set
The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that March 2010 was the second busiest trading month ever at the Exchange as a total of 217,429 contracts changed hands. For the month, trading volume was up 333 percent when compared to 50,271 contracts in March 2009 and up 16 percent from 188,236 contracts in February 2010. In the six-year history of CFE, March's trading volume trailed only the 221,025 contracts during January 2010.

CBOE March Volume Averages 4.5 Million Contracts/Day - March 2010 ADV: Down 8% From March 2009, Up 7% From February 2010 - First-Quarter 2010: CBOE Volume Up 2%
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today reported average daily volume (ADV) of 4.5 million contracts in March for a monthly total of 104.4 million contracts. March's average daily volume reflects an eight-percent decline from March 2009 and a seven-percent increase from February 2010 ADV.

Direct Edge Ends Rebates On Sub-$1 Stocks - Company To Implement Change Immediately Upon Filing With The SEC - To Argue For Comprehensive Approach In Response To SEC Concept Release
Direct Edge announced today that, upon making the requisite filing with the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), Direct Edge will immediately cease to offer liquidity-provision rebates for stocks trading below $1 per share on its EDGX platform. The fee for removing liquidity on EDGX in sub-$1 stocks will be reduced from 0.3% to 0.1% of the value of the dollar volume traded. This change will take effect Monday, April 5, 2010. The Options Clearing Corporation Announces Total Contact Volume In March Grew 2%
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced today that total OCC cleared volume in March reached 353,294,816 contracts. This represents a 2 percent increase over the March 2009 volume of 346,360,655 contracts. OCC year to date total contract volume is up 8 percent from 2009 with 931,269,641 contracts.

SEC Charges Daimler AG With Global Bribery
The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced a settlement with Daimler AG for violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), alleging that the Stuttgart, Germany-based automobile manufacturer engaged in a repeated and systematic practice of paying bribes to foreign government officials to secure business in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

FINRA Fines Scottrade $200,000 For Pattern Day Trading Violations - Firm Also Improperly Extended Credit To Cash Account Customers

Kansas City Board Of Trade Posts Third-Largest March HRW Wheat Trading Volume
The Kansas City Board of Trade’s Hard Red Winter Wheat futures trading volume for the month of March was the third largest in the exchange’s history for the calendar month. A total of 273,549 HRW wheat futures contracts were traded during the month of March, behind only March 2006 and 2009 trading volumes of 363,605 contracts and 280,459 contracts, respectively.
