Bloomberg Opens Its Data Distribution Technology - Open Market Data Initiative Will Spur Innovation & Industry Collaboration

Bloomberg is opening its market data interfaces for use by technology professionals globally, without cost or restriction, the company announced today. Bloomberg’s application programming interface, known as BLPAPI, is used daily by more than 100,000 professionals across the financial services industry and is now publicly available under a free-use license at http://open.bloomberg.com.*

FESE Position On The MiFID II Proposal

We welcome the Commission’s proposals and fully endorse the objectives supporting the revision of MIFID. FESE agrees with many of the improvements proposed by the Commission. At the same time, on a number of other issues, we have significant concerns with the proposals. We have been active in analysing the implementation issues with MiFID I and have brought several items to the attention of the Commission or the supervisors over the last years which has led to some of the important issues being highlighted in the Review (e.g. the unregulated equity platforms). 

Shenzhen Stock Exchange: Carrying Out New Regulations For ChiNext Annual Report And Enhancing Disclosure Effectiveness And Transparency

In order to improve the transparency of the annual report information disclosure of ChiNext listed companies, Shenzhen Stock Exchange successively promulgated 2011 Annual Report Notice, Memorandum No.10 on ChiNext Information Disclosure Business, specifying the detailed requirements in terms of management discussion and analysis, profit distribution, Q1 performance warning and so forth in annual report disclosure for the purpose of improving the effectiveness of information disclosure of listed companies. In January, 2012, Jetsen Technology (code: 300182) and Orient National Communication (code: 300166) are the first to disclose 2011 annual report, doing a good job in implementing the new requirements and new policies in the annual report disclosure.

Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Securities Information Co., Ltd. recently announced that SZSE strategic emerging industry index series will be released on Feb.01, 2012, including SZSE strategic emerging industry index, SME strategic emerging industry index and ChiNext strategic emerging industry index. The above three indexes have the sample size of respectively, 200, 100, 100, each with June 30, 2010 as base day, the basis point of 1000 points.
