- The average daily turnover was EUR 124.0 (147.3) million, a decrease of 15.8 percent. The total turnover was EUR 2,603.6 (3,093.8) million.
- The average number of trades per day was 17,058 (16,928), an increase of 0.8 percent. The total number of trades was 358,218 (355,488).
- The trading participant with the highest turnover was Handelsbanken with a turnover of EUR 942.8 (1,073.5) million.
- The most traded instrument was Volvo B, with a turnover of EUR 293.2 (284.3) million, an increase of 3.1 percent.

HKMEx Adds G. H. Financials Limited As Newest Clearing Member

The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (“HKMEx”), China’s international commodity marketplace, announced the addition of GHF Group as the Exchange’s newest clearing member, marking the fifth addition to HKMEx membership since the Exchange launched earlier this year.

KCBT Year-To-date Volume At Record-Breaking Pace

Trading volume at the Kansas City Board of Trade continues to post momentous gains over 2010 trading volume, a year in which new annual volume records were set for the exchange as a whole and the Hard Red Winter Wheat futures contract. Total exchange trading volume is running 48.7 percent ahead of last year at this time, with HRW wheat futures volume running 45.3 percent ahead and wheat options volume running 228.1 percent ahead.

MGEX Reports Year To Date Volume Up 36 Percent - July Volume And Open Interest

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization, today reported a 36 percent increase in calendar year volume compared to 2010 volume during the same period. Year to date trading volume totaled 1,202,993 contracts traded in the first seven months of 2011, compared to 886,890 contracts traded in the same period a year ago.

NYSE Euronext (NYX) announced today it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Metabit, a leading Tokyo-based provider of high performance market access products throughout Japan and Asia. Metabit will operate as a product line within the NYSE Technologies portfolio. The transaction is expected to close in third quarter of 2011. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

July Average Daily Volume At CBOE Futures Exchange Sets Record For Third Consecutive Month Volume In VIX Futures Tops One Million Contracts

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that record monthly average daily volume (ADV) was achieved during July, the second busiest trading month ever at the exchange. For futures on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), July trading activity remained brisk as monthly ADV reached a new all-time high and total volume topped one million contracts for the third time this year.
