ADX Lights Up NASDAQ At Times Square

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) was recently  honored by NASDAQ by inviting ADX to display its logo on NASDAQ’s electronic billboard in Times Square. The NASDAQ billboard is one of the most well recognized advertising venues in the world, located  in the heart of Times Square, New York.  ADX has recently signed a deal with NASDAQ to upgrade its trading system from Horizon to Xtreme.

The Hedge Fund Association, an international organization that represents hedge funds, service providers and investors, said liberalized advertising and solicitations rules contained in the new Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act would help hedge funds raise assets and “encourage emerging managers to continue to enter the industry.” The HFA also asked the SEC for clearer rules to verify that potential investors are indeed accredited as a way to “add further stability to the industry.”

• The average daily turnover for the first five months of 2012 was $59,067 million, a decrease of 21 per cent when compared with $74,395 million for the same period last year.
• The average daily turnover of CBBCs for the first five months of 2012 was $7,114 million, an increase of 26 per cent when compared with $5,657 million for the same period last year.

AXA IM today announced that it has implemented a number of measures to improve the capabilities of its Responsible Investment (RI) strategy. The developments allow AXA IM’s proprietary  research platform, RI Search^©, to disseminate increased fundamental and quantitative analysis on more than 2,500 securities directly to portfolio managers, which now includes the fixed income asset class in addition to equity. The developments have also enabled AXA IM to expand its proxy voting coverage into emerging markets, building on its voting activity at over 2,400 annual general meetings globally in 2011, as shown in its 2011 RI Annual Report.

HKFE Announces Margin Rates For Adjusted Hong Kong And China Gas Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Thursday, 7 June 2012, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The margins are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.
