NASDAQ Announces End-Of-Month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date February 29, 2012

At the end of the settlement date of February 29, 2012, short interest in 2,258 NASDAQ Global Market^SM securities totaled 6,434,814,070 shares compared with 6,398,505,284 shares in 2,255 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of February 15, 2012. The end-of-February short interest represents 3.55 days average daily NASDAQ Global Marketshare volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.47 days for the prior reporting period.

CFTC Announces Process to Designate The Provider Of CFTC Interim Compliant Identifiers

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is requesting submissions from industry participants who wish to be considered for designation by the Commission as the source for identifiers to be used for identification of swap counterparties in swap recordkeeping and swap data reporting under the jurisdiction of the Commission beginning on July 16, 2012.

Statement By IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde On Greece

Managing Director Christine Lagarde of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today made the following statement on Greece:

“Today I have consulted with the IMF’s Executive Board and on that basis, as discussed with the Greek government, I intend to recommend a €28 billion (about US$36.7 billion) arrangement under the Fund’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to support Greece’s ambitious economic program over the next four years."

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that it filed a civil enforcement action against Christopher Varlesi of Chicago, Ill., individually and doing business as Gold Coast Futures and Forex (Gold Coast).  The CFTC is charging Varlesi with fraudulently operating a commodity pool to trade commodity futures and off-exchange foreign currency (forex) contracts.  The CFTC complaint also charges Varlesi with making false statements to pool participants, misappropriating pool funds, and failing to register as a commodity pool operator.

ISDA EMEA Determinations Committee: Restructuring Credit Event Has Occurred With Respect To The Hellenic Republic

The following replacement shall be made in BSE IPO Index: 

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. (Code: 534091)  shall be included in BSE IPO Index. As per the guidelines, a company that get listed on the Exchange after completion of IPO shall be considered eligible for inclusion in the index subject to minimum free-float market capitalization of Rs.100 crores on its first day of listing.
